Hearing Conservation

hearing loss preventionHearing Conservation

How loud are the machines in your facility? If you don’t know, you could be playing with fire. Employee exposure to excessive noise is a common OSHA violation that can result in costly workers compensation claims and lawsuits. If any area in your workplace exceeds 85 dB you are required to maintain a hearing conservation program. Some best practices to conserve hearing are:
1) Control noise by modifying or replacing equipment or limit employee exposure time
2) Require hearing protection in all noise exposure areas
3) Complete audiometric testing on your employees annually to ensure no hearing loss is occurring
4) Train your employees annually on hearing protection

ERS will provide your company with the following:

  1. Annual Training
  2. Machine rotation policies
  3. Dosimetry
